Meet the Team

Jennie Rainsford

Jennie began making jewellery for friends, exploring crafts and upcycling from her teens, going on to study 3D Design.  She planned a career in gold-smithing but was diverted into the world of theatre, spending over 12 years in theatre management and marketing, working in Birmingham, Manchester and London's West End.
After a 2 year stint running a drum and vocal school in west London she launched her own event, PR and marketing company. Clients included Sudeley Castle, Stroud International Textiles Festival and The Cotswolds Attractions Group.
Her passion for arts and crafts was re-awakened after moving to the Cotswolds in 2004.  Jennie continues to be inspired by the beautiful landscape and vibrant arts community around the region.

Karen Holland

Karen’s love of crafting was inspired by her mother and grandmother and began dressmaking, crochet and knitting from an early age. After getting her first home, creative home furnishings soon followed but during a busy career in banking, followed by running her own businesses with her husband and having a young family at the same time, there seemed little time for anything creative.

While her daughter was studying Textiles for GCSE & A Levels Karen soon realised what she was missing and so began to search out her sewing basket and needles once again. Crafting had now become ‘cool’ and there was much more on offer allowing Karen to develop new skills in other areas too.

In 2010 Jennie founded Lechlade Music Festival, an award-winning 3-day family-friendly music festival.  In 2014 Karen also became part of Lechlade Music Festival and later that year they founded Lechlade Craft Barn, offering craft workshops from a beautiful stone barn in the Cotswolds. Both share a keen interest in continually developing their making skills, introducing new ideas and keeping ahead of fashion and interiors trends.

The duo are members of Team Crafty Beggars - a collective of crafters, designers and makers - some well-known faces -  to be found at national craft events.

They can also be found teaching on Supercraft Cruises with celebrity crafter and actress Julie Peasgood.
